Mother's Day Gift Ideas 2016

What with Mother's Day in 7 days time, I thought I'd share some cute gift ideas you could make/get your Mum (or Mom) for Mother's Day. Most of these gifts can be adaptable for anyone and any event.
The reason I'm writing this is about 50% for myself, seen as I tend to get my Mum gifts, the day before as I'm extremely unorganised when it comes to gift giving. *Except around Christmas*
I have tried to find ideas that you may not have seen before, but it was a bit difficult. I hope you enjoy this post and let's get started!

Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String, These Are A Few of YOUR Favourite Things!

I made this gift for my friend for her birthday last year, and I think this could be adapted easily to fit anyone! All you have to do is get a brown paper bag or box and fill it with things your person likes. Simple!
In this I added Sherbet (my friend loves it), a Vanilla candle and a framed photo of us and some of  our other friends. You could add something like her favourite singer's/band's album, a DVD with her favourite actor/actress in, a photo from the best trip you went on together, her favourite item of make up, a book by her favourite author, for example.
Open When ..... Letters
(This is not my photo)
These are so cute! If someone did these for me, I'd probably cry, ngl. All you need is some envelopes, paper/card and pens! If you don't know, the idea of this is the receiver of this keeps them until the thing on the front has happened, and its supposed to help cheer the up and feel better. You could add things like 'Open When You're Having A Bad Day' 'Open When We've Had An Argument', etc.
Then write a letter on the paper and add it to the envelope. If you wanted to make it even more personal, you could add photos or things that could remind your Mum of something nice you did together.
Reasons I Love You/I Think You're Awesome
(This is not my photo)
I think I might do this for my Mum and include things like:
"Thank you for insulting my clothing choices, so that I don't leave the house looking like a total wombat"
"For pestering me until I do my homework, so that I do well in school"
The list goes on.
I think this would be a really nice gift, because if you're like me, you don't tell your Mum how much you love and appreciate her enough.
If you would like to see some more ideas you can click here to see my Pinterest board of ideas!
I hope you liked this post and if you have any more ideas for me, leave them below!

February Favourites 2016

Where has February gone?! There is only 2 days left! Well its true what they say, time flies when you have tons of work to do!
Anyway, seen as its nearly over *and I didn't want to post this in mid-March*, I thought that, today, I would share the things  I have been loving through February with you!

The Stuff I Have Liked Putting on My Face (and One Thing I Liked To Use to Put it On)

As explained in the very long title, this section is about make up! This month I was in a panto *there is another little fact about me! Read 25 More Here!* so I have been using a lot more make up than usual, meaning I have been able to get a lot more testing done on products. Okay, you're probably bored by now, let's go!

In The Buff Eye Shadow Pallet - w7 Cosmetics

You are probably sick of me talking about this by now, as I have mentioned it at least twice before in Valentine's Day Make Up Looks 2016 and w7 'In the Nude' Pallet Review . Ah well, I love it. I have been using this quite a bit this month as the colours are pink-y tones and I thought they looked nice around Valentine's Day. I use this pallet all year round for a variety of occasions, but this month, it has been my go-to pallet!
Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit (in Ultra Fair) - Make Up Revolution

I love this! As you can *hopefully* see from the picture above, it is so pigmented! I used this for panto, and I am definitely going to use this as an everyday product as well! The bronzer is matte, whereas the highlighter and blusher has little flecks of sparkle in them, which I love. The highlighter leaves a really pretty shimmer. The colours are all natural and I can't wait to start using this more!
*Side note : my friend, lets call him Joshua (that is not his name, btw), never uses make up, but he didn't mind me putting this on his face for panto, so that's saying something!*
Tanya Burr Cosmetics Lip Gloss - Afternoon Tea

I love this a lot! It is not sticky at all and is a really nice, smooth consistency. On my lips, it doesn't leave too much of a noticeable colour, as it is very natural and coral-y/pink. This is really nice as it gives a shimmer and a sort of 'my lips but better' effect.

Real Techniques Blush Brush
I bloomin' love this sooooooooooo much! Even though it was a little price-y, it is definitely worth the money! I use to apply blush and highlighter, and then when I have all my face make up applied, I use it to make sure everything is blended in and that there is no excess make up on ma face.
Lotions and Potions

Fruit Salad Body Wash - Imperial Leather
As you may have guessed, I love this! This smells incredible and the best bit is, it actually smells like Fruit Salad sweets! Unlike a lot of body wash/shower gel/ whatever you want to call it, the (beautiful) smell of this lasts ages!
Mango Temptation Body Spray - Victoria's Secret
I have wanted Victoria's Secret body sprays for soooooooooooooooo long *that amount of 'o's is accurate*. And so, when I walked in Superdrug a couple weeks ago, and I saw this (and Love Spell) and kinda had a mini freak out. I love it. A lot. *Side note : they are so photogenic. Kinda 25% of the reason I bought it, ngl*
It smells fruity and quite mature. *Is that really what you're going with Charlotte? Okay then, good luck* Its like quite a grown up fragrance, it ,might just be the fact that its Victoria's Secret, I don't know. I have been loving this so much recently, but I don't want to use it too often, so that it lasts longer.

Hand Food Hand Cream - Soap and Glory
This month, for some unknown reason, my hands have been really dry, and now they're not! I love Soap and Glory products, and this is no exception! It smells incredible, like all Soap and Glory products! On the bottle, it says 'non-greasy and hydrating' and it is exactly that!
Micellar Water - Garnier
I bought this in January and I like it for taking off my make up and just cleansing ma skin (its in my skincare routine, if you want to have yourself a little looksey). I only have little bottle, because I wanted to try it first, but I will definitely buy a big bottle when this one is empty!
So that's it for this post, I apologise for how long it is and I am impressed that you stuck it out for so long! Leave one of your February favourites below and if you did your own February favourites, leave me the link so I can check it out!

Lip Balm Heros ~ Feb 2016

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may have noticed my slight obsession over lip balms. I have quite a large collection ranging from Baby Lips to The Body Shop and Nivea and EOS. I have lots of Baby Lips and, if you would like, you read about my collection in my 'Baby Lips Collection and Swatches' post.
Yeah, so, I like lip balms. A lot. So today I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you. Let us begin!
Maybelline Baby Lips ~ Peach Punch
I love this soooo much! It tastes really nice, I really like the peach flavour as it is quite sweet and, who would have guessed it, FRUITY! This is always in my blazer pocket for school and my mum even came and borrowed it one night, and she doesn't like anything I have! Baby Lips are some of my favourite balms, and this one is definitely my number 1!
Rating : 10/10
Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm ~ Cherry

I bloomin' love this! It smells amazing. It tastes amazing. The colour is amazing *very nice cherry-ey colour, not to dark, but very pretty*. It is very moisturising and leaves a very nice sheen.
Rating : 10/10
Nivea Lip Butter ~ Raspberry Rose
I mentioned this in my Skincare Routine last week, because I love it! I especially like using this before bed and in the morning, before I get ready. It is thicker than the others, but I still like it. I love it because it is not sticky, absorbs into your lips quickly and leaves a very nice soft finish. It has a really nice, sweet, fruity smell; it smells like fruity chew sweets,  which gives it a very big thumbs up from me!
Rating : 10/10
The Body Shop Born Lippy ~ Watermelon
I really like this lip balm as it is very moisturising and nourishing. It smells and tastes exactly like watermelon! It leaves a really nice, pretty, almost glossy look to your lips. I believe some people in the beauty world may describe it as 'my lips but better'??? *the blogging world has changed me!* There is only one thing I don't overly like about this product is that it can be a bit sticky after you have put it on. However, I can get past this as everything else is amazing!
Rating : 9/10
I hope you enjoyed this post! Leave your favourite lip balm in the comments below, I'm sure I could add to my collection!

25 Facts About Me ~ Feb 2016

I thought today I would share some random things about me in the '25 Facts About Me' tag! I hope you like it!

  1. My first language is English and I am currently studying French and Mandarin Chinese, at GCSE.
  2. I am not allergic to anything at all, that I know of.
  3. I hate spicy food. I can manage a Chicken Tikka, but that's about it.
  4. The first foreign country I ever went to was Belgium and I went to Gent. When we went, it was a beautiful day, very hot, apparently very rare for Belgium, according to our tour guide!
  5. I love dancing and I have been doing it since I was 2 and a 1/2.
  6. When I was younger, I really wanted to be an author or a primary school teacher.
  7. My favourite school subjects are history and French. You may have guessed I like French from, you know, my blog's name and opening word, but I really love learning about the past. Some people think its a bit weird, but I like knowing how the world we live in today was shaped.
  8. On the bus to and from school, I am very anti-social. I put my earphones in and end up practically ignoring everyone around me. I think it is because in the morning, I'm too tired to talk and then after school, I have the same problem.
  9. I lost my first tooth when I was 4 or 5. I was at primary school and I think it fell out while I was playing or something. To this day, I still do not know what happened to my tooth!
  10. I have two lucky numbers, 3 and 7.
  11. I only grow taller in the spring. Its weird, but its exactly the same for my sibling.
  12. I worry A LOT. I worry about a lot of things, a lot of the time. I get it from my mum, ah genes.
  13. When I was 10, my sibling and I got lost at Alton Towers within 10 minutes of being there. I won't tell you to much about it, but if you are interested, let me know!
  14. Whenever I travel for long journeys in the car, I sleep really weirdly. Either I have my elbow on the arm rest and balance my head on my hand or, with my head in the gap between my seat and the seat next to me.
  15. My laptop's screensaver is a photo I took of the Fjords in Norway. They are very pretty and I REALLY want to go back.
  16. I am not overly sporty, but my favourite sports are dancing, rounders and tennis.
  17. Little Mix is my favourite band and I am going to see them at a concert soon and I can't wait *screams internally, so not to alert family members*.
  18. I have never watched a horror film and I don't plan on doing so. Ever. PLL can be scary enough sometimes *shudders*.
  19. My favourite TV show/movie 'genre' is comedy. Some of my favourite comedians are Russell Howard and Michael McIntyre and I love TV shows like Mock The Week and Miranda *weeps as Miranda is no longer on TV* *Stops crying as she remembers she has series 1-3 on DVD*.
  20. I have very strong beliefs in gender equality, feminism and equality in general.
  21. I really like long car journeys as it means I can sit and listen to music for ages.
  22. If I had to chose between Burger King and McDonalds, I would chose Burger King. *Ducks to shelter the items being thrown at her*. I will tell you for why. I like McDonalds chicken nuggets, but overall I prefer Burger King's burgers and chips. Sorry.
  23. In year 7, I was on the netball team (mainly playing Goal Shooter) and the rounders team.
  24. I began my blog on 28th July 2015.
  25. Finally, I have always sat on the left side of the car, ever since I was little. I don't know if you and your family do/did this, but me and my sibling always sit on certain side of the car. I sit behind the passenger and they sit behind the driver. (Unless only one of our parents is with us, in which case, I usually get to the car first, so I sit in the passenger seat. *sighs* I'm such a child).
And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this post and if you have done this tag, leave the link in the comments below and I will go and check them out! I think you can 'tag' other people to do this, so I will tag a few, but you don't have to do it if you don't want to xx

Spring Fashion Wish List 2016 - Collab

It's me. I'm back *back again*. I have been posting loads recently! I think this might be the 3rd post in 3 days!
As you may have seen in the title, this post is a collab with Izzy from The Pastel Style. We have done a collab before, back in October 2015, an Autumn Bucket List. I love Izzy's blog and you should definitely go and have a look!
Back to my post now, today I am going to share some clothing pieces that are on my Spring Fashion Wish List for 2016! I am going to try and not add a huge amount of detail to each item.

Kitty Vintage Boyfriend Jeans:
Boyfriend Jeans
Maybe not these in particular, but if I find ANY Boyfriend-style jeans I like, I will definitely get them! I think they are very cute and could be easily styled all year round!
Fluted Sleeve/Peplum Tops
I especially like these in white/cream/pastel colours, as I think they would be perfect for Spring. I think these would be nice with the  Boyfriend jeans as they are simple and pretty.
Floaty Cold Shoulder Tops
I am really liking these tops at the minute, as you can wear them with loads of different of items!
Floral Midi A-Line Skirts
I love A-line midi skirts soooo much! They can be dressed up or down and I really want one! I think a floral one would be perfect for Spring as it is the season of flowers and all things pretty! *that sounded really stupid, ah well, I'll roll with it. Why did I say that? I never say that* If you follow me on Pinterest (here), I have a board called 'Formal Outifts' (even though I never have any formal occasions to attend) and that is FULL of midi skirts!
Tan Backpack
I am VERY late to the Tan Backpack Party. I know that. But I still want one! I think it would be perfect for Spring as well as practical! *Is that a good argument? I don't know?* Also, I think it would go perfectly with Boyfriend jeans, a white fluted top and Converse!
White Converse High Tops
Once again, very late to this party as well! I have wanted a pair of White Converse High Tops for SO LONG! I am definitely a trainers kind-of-girl rather than a heels kind-of-girl. My parents always say "you can't have white shoes! You'll just ruin them!". But my birthday is coming up soon, so I might be granted my wish.
*Crosses fingers*
*Crosses toes*
*Crosses legs*
*Crosses tongue*
*Crosses eyes*
*Okay, I think you've got the idea*
*I'll stop now*
*Or will I?*
*Okay, I'll stop now*

So that's my 'Spring 2016 Fashion Wishlist'! I hope you enjoyed this post and if you'd like me to do one every season, let me know!
What's on your Spring Fashion Wish List this year?

My Skincare Routine ~ Feb 2016

Spring is coming around fast *ish* this year and I have decided I want to try and look after my skin a little better. Today I would like to share my 'Skincare Routine' with you. You may have noticed that 'Skincare Routine' is in apostrophes, that is because it isn't really a routine. I don't do this on a regular basis, only if I have time or if I want to. Nevertheless, I wanted to share this with you and that's what I'm going to do!

I have the same products/routine for both morning and evening, but I'll explain it in a bit more detail later <3
I like using this product in the morning, before make up, because it cleanses my skin and makes sure all the stuff I don't want on my face, isn't on my face.
I also like using in the evening/when I take my of my make up, as it is quick and easy to use.

E45 Cream (moisturiser)
Nothing special really, but it is good for my skin. When my face, my forehead especially, gets dry, I just add a little of this and I'm good to go! I think you can get this in most drugstores, chemists *pharmacies* and some supermarkets.

I think I use this wrong as on the packet it  says to apply under eyes in circular motions *or something like that anyway*, but I do a couple of swipes under each eye, around the outer corner and a little on my lids. I then use my finger to help it soak in. I especially like this as it brightens up under eyes and makes them look smoother. 5/5 from me!

I LOVE this a lot. I usually apply it before I even start on anything else, as it is quite thick and I like to give it time to 'sink in'. I love this because A) it tastes amazing B) the smell reminds me of something from my childhood, but I can't think what C) it is very moisturising and leaves your lips with a very nice 'texture' *well that sounded odd*.
I don't really think this counts as 'skincare', but I put it on my face so...
I like to think this is like another layer before I put on make up to 'protect' my skin, I don't think it actually does this, but I can dream. Can't I? Like I was saying, I apply this before make up and sometimes even if I'm not wearing any make up, as it evens out pores on your face.
I hope you liked this post! Leave your must-have skincare product below in the comments, I might have some to try out!

A Day in The Life of a Teen Blogger ~ Feb 2016

Today I thought I'd write a post that is a little different and I'd share with you a 'Day in My Life' of when I have a 'bloggy day'. A 'bloggy day' is basically a day which I allocate to blogging and seen as its half term at the minute, I thought today would be the perfect time to have one and document it! I am writing it as the day  Shall we begin?

Let's face it. I'm not to going to get up early am I? No. I managed to drag myself out of bed at about 10:15am and went downstairs for food.  don't usually eat much at all in the morning but today I felt like having toast. So I made toast *makes sense, seen as a wanted some* and I took it up to my bedroom. Then I did the stereotypical teenage thing of opening ALL my social media and checking it (links are in the sidebar and in the social tab at the top of the page, if you want to follow me!). As you can see in the picture, I opened Instagram on my phone and Pinterest, We Heart It and Twitter on my laptop.

So after mindlessly browsing for about 30 minutes, I better be some-what productive, I have opened my Blogger Dashboard, gathered my notebooks, collected my felt tip pens and started the album 'Handwritten' by Shawn Mendes on YouTube.
I am currently planning, pre-writing future blog posts and carelessly singing along to Aftertaste, Kid In Love, Strings and Crazy *ah, who am I kidding, I am singing along to the entire album*. I'd better take some photos before the daylight goes.
So after a while of taking lots of photos, choosing the best of each and editing them all *I swear I took around 200 photos*, I'm going to spend a bit of time on YouTube because it is one of my favourite places to be.

After my little 'Tea Break', I went to Twitter to promote a few of my blog posts and catch up on what's going on. UPDATE Still listening to Shawn Mendes, I think my family might be a little annoyed by now. I need to go an edit photos for tomorrow's post, back in a bit!

Editing is done! I am thinking of writing a 'How I Take and Edit My Photos' post at some point *if my photography skills ever improve*, so let me know if you'd like me to do that! I was just going to post an Instagram photo but I think I'll do it when this post goes up, instead.
Seen as I'm going out soon, I can't really finish this off properly, but when I do come home, I will most likely be on the internet until around midnight, ngl.
I hope you enjoyed this type of post and if you would like me to do more, let me know!
Parle bientot,

(p.s. that photo will be up now, so go a give it a little like xx)

My Favourite Instagram Accounts - February 2016

Happy Valentine's Day! I have written some other V-Day themed blog posts, you can read Valentine's Make Up Ideas and My Top 3 On-Screen Couples, there. So anyway, today I thought I'd share some love in a different way. I'm going to share some of my favourite Instagram accounts with you, that I think you may want to follow. These are in no order, by the way, also the follower counts are as of 13/02/16.

They're right. It is cute. The owner is called Julie and has 73.5k followers. Her feed is very girly and cute and some her photos are in my inspiration folder for when I try and take pictures for my blog and my own Instagram.

I've already mentioned Meg on my blog before (YouTubers To Watch) and I think her Instagram feed is just as amazing! She has 11.1k followers and I think she deserves more! She has done different colour themes, around  Christmas it was red, then white and black around January.
I really like Emii's feed, it is very pretty and girly and has pics of make up, clothes and her room. She has 2048 followers and I think she deserves WAY more!
I LOVE Ellie's feed SOOOO much! She has 12.9k followers. Like @cuteinstgram, her photos are in my inspiration folder because I love her photos!
I LOVE Beth's feed! Her photography skills are incredible! She is also a blogger and we are doing a collab post soon, so keep your eyes open for that! Her account has 1292 followers and she definitely deserves loads more!
I love Anni's feed so much! Much like the others, some of her photos are in my inspiration folder because her photos are amazing! She currently has 11.6k followers and deserves all of them! Her feed is very girly and pink and I do love it. A lot.

Avant Garde Spring/Summer Outfit Idea

So today I thought I would try something a little different and I would put together a complete outfit with items from . I am going to try and put together an outfit which you may or may not like, but I'm going to try and make it a bit 'Avant Garde' with a few other styles thrown in the mix. My aim is to try and make this 'Avant Garde', but I think it is a quite adventurous style and I would like to try and make this a wearable, daytime outfit that you could dress up or down. So I think most of the accessories will be more audacious and bold, to fit with the 'Avant Garde' theme, and the actual clothes may be a little more basic and simple. But I do love adding and layering extravagant pieces to 'jazz-up' an outfit!
A lot of the items in this post are rather more on the pricier side, but I think that if you wanted to recreate this look (if you do, post it on Instagram and tag me!), you could definitely find alternatives that may fit your budget a little more.
Also, Avant Garde is quite a 'retro' look *I don't know if that's the correct word, but if you google 'Avant Garde', you will get what I mean*, so I am going to try and make it a bit more 'modern', so that the outfit could be worn during the day.
That was a lot of rambling, shall we begin?

If you wanted a jacket/cardigan, I would chose a pale brown chunky knit over-sized cardigan, just to finish it off.

I absolutely LOVE this top. I think it would go really well with the bottoms I have chosen as it is a crop top, but its not a crop top, because its a bit longer. I like how its a bit floaty and the little cut-out section at the back, as it isn't too high.

I LOVE Boyfriend-style jeans and I would wear these rolled up maybe once or twice, so that they sit about an inch above the ankles. I like how these can be worn dressed up or down and that they are sort of 'edgy' and very cute.
I absolutely adore these shoes, and that's quite an odd thing, as I'm not really a 'heels' kind of girl, but I'd make an exception for these! I love how they are very simplistic, but very cute. I think these would match the clothes as, like them, these are very simple but chic *I need to look up my fashion terminology*. Another thing I love about these are that you could wear them during the day and at night, perfect for all occasions!

I absolutely LOVE these. I think they are so cute and I love the framing around the lenses. I especially like how the outer corners of the frames sort of stick out a bit as I think it gives a little more to them. I also like how the frame doesn't continue all the way around the lenses, as I think it gives a sort of retro/vintage aspect, but they are also modern and quite popular at the moment.
I think when you are choosing sunglasses *or glasses in general* it is important to chose something that will fit the shape of your face. But if you like them, get them! I think when buying clothes/accessories its important for you to choose something you like and feel happy in. If you'd like a more detailed idea,
This necklace is very extravagant and, in my opinion, very 'Avant Garde' as it is bold, striking and adventurous, yet some-what simple. This necklace is very prominent and something I'd style for a more formal, evening look.
I wanted to give you another necklace option, just in case you wanted something a little simpler. I think this is a nice accessory as it *fits with my 'colour scheme'* is bold and classy.

I really like this cuff as it is quite a statement piece. I think it fits the 'Avant Garde' theme as it is noticeable, simply coloured and detailed.

I think these are very cute and they are not too big that they would get in the way/be distracting if you were to wear them t work, for example. I also love the goldy/rose goldy colour as I think it fits the 'Avant Garde' theme well.
This ring is a very bold, statement piece and I think it fits my 'colour theme' quite nicely. I think it brings out the Avant Garde style as there are different sizes and shapes of the circles.
I hope you enjoyed this post and if you would like for me to do this type of post again let me know!
