Halloween Cupcakes - Chocolate Devils

So seen as Halloween is coming up soon, I thought I would share a recipe for ‘Chocolate Devil Cupcakes’. (This is not my image but when I make these, I will post a picture of them on my Instagram and Twitter)
Ingredients (Cake Mix)
·        100g Plain Flour
·        20g Cocoa Powder(you could use Cadbury Bourneville)
·        140g Caster Sugar
·        1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
·        40g Unsalted Butter (at room temperature)
·        120ml Whole Milk
·        1 Egg
·        1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)
·        12-hole Cupcake Tray, Lined with Paper Cases (Red If You Wish)
Ingredients (Buttercream)
·        Butter (amount varies)
·        Icing Sugar
·        Red Food Colouring
·        Chocolate Chips
·        Piping Bags (or equivalent)

First mix the sugar and the butter together until creamy and soft. Then add all the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Then add the liquid ingredients. Bake for around 20 minutes (or until a clean fork can be removed). Leave to cool completely.
For the icing, mix everything together, the amount may vary of each, depending on how much you want of each. Once the buttercream is as red as you like, fill your piping bag and make swirls on each cupcake (like in the picture). Don’t leave it too long before you do the next bit. Get two chocolate chips and put them equal distance apart, to create horns (look at image).
If you make these, post a picture on Instagram and tag me in it!

Travel Essentials and Packing Tips

So in the Land of the Home (England), it is very close to October Half Term, which means, basically a week off school where teachers still give you a mountain of homework to do, as they assume, as teenagers, we have nothing better to do with our lives.
Anyway, after my little rant, it is the time where a lot of people go on holiday. So I thought I would share with you my travel essentials and how I pack.  I know there are a lot of families who go on holiday in their country and drive, and most travel videos/posts are for air travel, so mine is specifically for ‘road trips’.

Travel Essentials
For a bag, I like to bring a backpack, so that I can use it on holiday, it can carry a lot.

      1.     Fully Charged Phone * nuff said *

2.     Earbuds and Headphones – I like to bring both as sometimes, earbuds make my ears hurt if they are in too long. Also, I like to bring headphones are they are better at blocking out the CD your parents  play in the car, which is bad about 75% of the time *tell me if I’m wrong*

3.     Food and Drink – Now I like to have something like a water bottle and a small bag of sweets or something just in case I get hungry. When we travel, most of the time we get a McDonalds or Burger King or something. Quick question, Burger King or McDonalds? Leave your answer in the comments!

4.     Chargers – I know that you can’t use a plug-in charger in the car but I like having mine with me, so that way, I know where it is straight away.  You could also take a fully charged portable charger, if you have one.

5.     I will have a little ‘make up bag’ in my backpack with things like deodorant, body spray and hair bobbles in it, just in case I have to interact with others.
Packing Tips

If you are going away and you are only allowed a small bag/suitcase, then look I have some ideas you might like. There are only a few because they all work well and I couldn’t think of any more.

1.     Put your make up / beauty bag inside your journey bag – This way you will save space in your suitcase and you have your make up with you in case you need something whilst travelling.

2.     Roll your clothing – I know that if you have watched as many travel videos on YouTube as I have, then you will have heard this many times. But I am repeating it anyway! Rolling your clothes saves space in your bag and keeps them some-what fresher.

3.     Plan your outfits – Check the weather forecast and plan what you are going to wear with what on what day. This way you could have loads of different outfits and only be taking 5 items.

I hope you found my ideas helpful *I doubt it*

Autumn Room Inspiration 2015

I’m sorry there was no post on Wednesday, it got to 10pm and I realised I hadn’t posted and I had nothing to post anyway.
However, I hope this post makes up for it as I am sharing How I Decorated my Bedroom for Autumn. So I have decorated areas of my bedroom with an Autumnal theme and took pictures to share with you.

Cosy Area
This is just a corner of my room with an old and comfy armchair in it. This is where I spend hours, when I have free time. So I have just covered it with a grey fleece throw blanket (with faux fur on the edges) and I made a cushion with a ‘C’ on it, so I just added that. There is also a copper lamp, which is supposed to be in the living room, but I managed to acquire it and put it in my little ‘cosy area’. (BTW, this is here all year round).

Bedside Table
So to jazz up my bedside table for Autumn, I found and old bit of wood, and added a cute copper bowl from Next, my Zoella Blissful Mistful perfume (I have been loving it recently and my Salted Caramel Yankee Candle Votive in this holder with my name cut out. Finally, I added a marron coloured velvet hair bow from H&M, which I will wear in the Winter.

Fairy Lights
And finally, fairy lights. I got this pack of silver mesh lights and I have hung them above my headboard. I also have some butterfly lights hanging on a wall.

I hope you liked this post and if you do any of these things, take a photo, put it on Instagram and tag me in it @vieaveccharlotte.
